Designation Removal

The most common method appears to be dental floss/string. Get the basics off, then use something to remove the remaining sticky such as tar remover etc. Bear in mind that you'll also then have to seal/wax the areas you've just cleaned.

It should. The dental floss will cut through the foam behind the decal. Leaving a layer of sticky foam behind. Don't attempt to use any credit cards or other implements to remove the decals as this surely will damage the paint. Once they're off, you can take the rest of the foam off and sticky with the tar/glue remover. Patience is the key here. Don't rush it.

Dental floss. Using a hair dryer to warm the glue first makes the second stage much easier. Leaves much less residue. I just used a soft cloth dipped in petrol to remove the residue. Came off rapido. Then good ckean&wax etc.

5 min job.

When I did mine. I warmed up the emblem with a blow dryer. Used dental floss to remove them. Then used the wife's fingernail polish remover to clean the glue residue. Hit the area with Meguires swirl remover using a Makita rotary polisher with a yellow polish pad. Then some Meguires new car glaze. And a few coats of wax. Job done. Took less than an hour for the two front wing emblems.

Warm it up with a hair dryer get an old credit card or store card slide it behind badge and of it will come then use finger to get most of the glue off then a bit of nail polish remover (yours or your wife's) then a bit of polish, Took me 20 Min's to do all mine and left no marks at all.

I remember the MG years, the more RAC badges and Club Badges you could fit on the better :)

Have debadged rear ends of almost every car ive owned in last 10 years , E class,C class,5 series , 3 series then i got a 645Ci & decided to leave it alone
The "Z4 " has been removed though
oh & the "carrera 2 " i also left on :P

Never had a prob using petrol. After all the paint doesnt come off if u spill a bit filling up and wipe it off. Just don't rub too hard!
