Any confirmation of a date/start time etc yet?

Are we going for the 11th March - say 9.30am meet for 10am depart ?

Should we meet in Baslow (at Wheatsheaf Hotel for example) or at Chatsworth itself ?

Let's do the 11th, meet at Chatsworth House main car park at 10 am, Bakewell Derbyshire DE45 1PP.

I've not done a meet before but suppose we'll say hi, look at our Z's grab a coffee then have a drive through some lovely countryside and make our way to Matlock Bath for some fish n chips!!

I think we've all gone with Darrens idea above. Confirmed people:

Looking good, the more the better. Do we have a confirmed route yet? Or a final destination?

I am quite tempted to join you.

We live six miles away from Chatsworth.
My only reservation, the Mrs will kill me if I bend it.
I am definitely keen to take a closer look at a coupe.

Routewise I guess liam will be scouting the terrain in advance. I have lived round here for a while, I don't know if suggestions are welcome, these might be worth a look.

Chatsworth A623 Baslow - Anchor Inn Tideswell - b6049 Bradwell, Hope Valley a6187 - Castleton - Winnats Pass, after that it gets boring or narrow, peak forest? a5004 into Buxton from Chapel maybe? Obviously the Macc road A537 up towards Buxton is amusing but the speed cameras ruin the tops. Then there are some scary buggers around Longnor, b5053 brutal dips, blind carriageway and a half, camber to die for (or because of), probably unsuitable(?) except for speed freaks with a death wish

How about this?

Then mosy and finish in Matlock Bath? :driving:

I don't know any of these places to be honest, im in Birmingham so a good 70 miles away. I'm happy to follow the crowd, as long as someone has an idea,

If you are going for that route we will try and give it a twirl this weekend, check for road closures and fill in some of the gaps between Chapel, Buxton and Matlock.

Arbour Low might be worth a stop (a quid in a plastic marge box for parking)

The food at Chatsworth cafe is surprisingly okay (edible)
The Grouse at Rowsley is a gastro pub with parking, a tenner or so.
Fish and chips at Matlock Bath is excellent and decent value
The pubs are okay-ish

Anyone fancy meeting on the way up? I will be coming from sutton coldfield b72
