Derby/ notts/ midlands meets?

Need a few weeks to get the car sorted after yesterday's shenanigans, so mid-March is better for me - but preferably not 24/25 March (wife's already grabbed that weekend :) )

Let's do the 11th, meet at Chatsworth House main car park at 10 am, Bakewell Derbyshire DE45 1PP.

I've not done a meet before but suppose we'll say hi, look at our Z's grab a coffee then have a drive through some lovely countryside and make our way to Matlock Bath for some fish n chips!!

Darren, looks like your in charge then. I'm good for the 11th, never been to a meet before so will be good to see everyone's cars

I'm in.
Need to remove my big brakes first :)
Happy to guide the organisation if needed.
Just pick a route with some faster roads, scenery and a pub lunch and it'll work out.

I am quite tempted to join you.

We live six miles away from Chatsworth.
My only reservation, the Mrs will kill me if I bend it.
I am definitely keen to take a closer look at a coupe.

Routewise I guess liam will be scouting the terrain in advance. I have lived round here for a while, I don't know if suggestions are welcome, these might be worth a look.

Chatsworth A623 Baslow - Anchor Inn Tideswell - b6049 Bradwell, Hope Valley a6187 - Castleton - Winnats Pass, after that it gets boring or narrow, peak forest? a5004 into Buxton from Chapel maybe? Obviously the Macc road A537 up towards Buxton is amusing but the speed cameras ruin the tops. Then there are some scary buggers around Longnor, b5053 brutal dips, blind carriageway and a half, camber to die for (or because of), probably unsuitable(?) except for speed freaks with a death wish.

dunno- I have never been on a club meet - how are these things arranged ?

Sounds great to me, some great roads, I know the average speed cameras spoil the cat n fiddle Somewhat but never the less a fantastic road!!

We can meet and have strategic stop off's perhaps en route?

Sounds like you know the area much better than me !

Last time we drove briskly to the cat and fiddle pub and were gps tracked at an average 30mph - bet that surprises a few of you....

making it up that hill quickly is entirely beyond me.
maybe a bigger engine would help
and not caring about the car.
I find it easier at night.
