On the verge of jumping to the dark side from the classic Z4MR to a 35is. It's an approved BMW dealership and the cars pretty much fully loaded with all the toys at the right price. No PX to worry about so I'm fairly happy. Any last minute do's and don't from the E89 fraternity would be appreciated!

Obviously I'll be going in to try and strike a cash deal but bear in mind I'm dealing with the BMW PR gestapo!

Whats the spec etc etc ?

Im sure you will like it,although the DCT will polarise opinion.

Sport mode, give it poke and see what you think ....

As for dealing with BMW,just get a price in your head and haggle from that...... If the car is perfect in every way and fits your criteria 100% then its always worth paying a little more,if not walk away..... There are plenty for sale...

I've always done very good cash deals with bmw. Loads of wriggle room in my experience, but they are very slow to allow negotiations to start. It will look like there is no room. In my experience, it has taken a week, but have got plenty off.

best to have a 2nd, like car in mind. Tell them about it. They will check if it exists. If they want to stop your money going there, they have to move.

unless of course, they don't.

Totally agree and will obviously have that as my starting point. Dilemma is that this car was already sold before being prepped only for the finance to fall through, hence the reason it came back up for grabs. You always know you'll pay over the odds at a dealership but the bullet proof warranty makes me a tad more comfortable. Maybe I shouldn't have read the 'E89 Problems' forum and took a chance on a model £4K cheaper but none of them had all the toys I wanted?

Thats a nice thing....

The wood and 296's wouldnt be my first option for a 35is though..

IMHO its expensive.... by about £2k,even AUC....

A couple of miles away from me, must book a test drive for tomorrow

Very nice! I think the interior is very good and I don't mind the wood at all. 296 wheels not the best and liable to cracking and I would agree that it's a little over-priced for the year but fingers crossed that you get a bit off for a cash deal.

Wood dash raised concerns for me until I saw the pics - its actually very subtle and goes nicely with the interior

It says it has M sport adaptive suspension but its a little vague. Is the M sport adaptive where it lowers 10mm and changes down to road conditions?

I maybe wrong but I thought if a car had adaptive the switch would read Comfort-Sport and the standard M suspension settings read Normal-Sport?

They may have changed it in later models tho. I'm by no means an expert. The difference is that without you stuck with the hard suspension whereas the adaptive will allow a more comfortable ride and tighen up and lower when you want it to be a bit more sporty.

Although the adaptive shocks apparently tend to leak and cost a few quid. The M sport is actually pretty good from the cars I test drove. Didn't manage to test an adaptive car.

In that guise I would say price is a little strong. Black with wood is probably a hard sell but obviously everyone is different and it looks ok.

Lovely car otherwise. Main thing is nearly 7 years old try and push for a 2 year warranty with it

It looks very nice - did notice that the warning light was on - just check it out - could be a number of treason - fuel is OK.

May be out of budget but an extra (advertised) £6k gets you this...

All the 35is's have EDC,but it doesnt lower the car....

Suspension wise it just firms up the ride...

This is the description of M adaptive suspension

Adaptive M suspension.
The optional Adaptive M suspension allows the sports tuning of the BMW Z4 Roadster to be increased as required without compromising on comfort.
Lowering the chassis by 10 mm increases agility. Using the driving experience switch, the driver can also choose between a setting geared towards sports character and one with an emphasis on comfort.

During the journey, sensors continuously measure data and control the shock absorber valves in the Adaptive M suspension according to the driving situation and road profile. This takes place for each wheel individually so that optimum road holding is guaranteed at all times.

So the M adaptive is one above the standard EDC? So where does this

Comfort-sport vs Normal- Sport

I assumed the Comfort setting was the electronic damper control. As the car in question has Normal-Sport not Comfort-Sport

I think M Sport suspension is 10mm lower than SE spec whether adjustable or not.

I have Comfort - Sport - Sport+ on mine and I believe I have the adjustable dampers.

It doesnt lower the car,it just means the springs are 10mm shorter on that option.
