I was genuinely horrified by the Bridgestone's but when time came to replace I didn't want to sacrifice the practicality provided by the RFT in case of a puncture without having to think about tyre sealant (remember the sealant expires over time too)/space savers. I took a huge leap of faith to experiment with Michelin ZP PS2's.... one which I have NOT regretted. Everything that the Non-RFT guys (and I mean no dis-respect to peoples choice to do so) report as improved/resolved by switching to non-rft (such as improved ride, non-tramlining etc) holds true with the Michelin's - complete car transformation - even mrs gannet noticed just backing off the drive as a passenger
I'm now on my second set of rears after they lasted just over 17k miles versus the Bridgestones lasting just 12k so that justifies the premium to me. Front's still have about 5-6mm of tread left
