hi all, I've just bought a 3.0 SE and this is my 1st post....

I've noticed that Dension sell an IPOD kit that also has a bluetooth hands-free add-on. This looks like a cleaner and cheaper way of getting ipod and handsfree other than changing the headunit or buying two seperate kits.

Has anyone actually used one of these? was it any good?

Welcome hugepiece

Any Pictures ?

I have the OEM Bluetooth module which is great. No idea personally about the unit you mention.

Have you read the manual though, sounds complicated to make a phonecall.

I would want to test test in the flesh, dont get me wrong I have the icelink plus kit which I am happy with, and car kit which is not so good.

If it used the phone button on the MFSW I would look into further, but for now think I will stick with seperate devices.

Also Dont believe Dension kit supports the new "Classic ipods"

thanks for the feedback guys, this is just what i'm after. I've used the Nokia CK-7W kit in the past and was really happy, just hoped for an integrated solution without having to change the headunit too.

My car doesn't have the steering wheel controls although I was considering fitting this myself, hence the thought about staying with the Dension kit as I know this can interact via another module.

Maybe a seperate bluetooth kit is the way forward, I did think that 99quid all in may not be great......

I have an IPOD touch so am not too bothered about classic ipod support.

Careful, I think the ipod touch and iphone will have the same issues as the classic. Worth double checking.

Actually the classic works OK with the Dension kit. Only bizarre thing is that if a playlist is playing when you turn off the ignition, when you turn it back on it appears to play but there's no sound. Switching to another playlist and back again solves the problem, but it's a bit of a pain.

crikey - just looked at the Dension web-site to see whats involved in using the bluetooth for phone-calls - looks like a nightmare! I just kind of assumed you had a dial button as per other car-kits such as the nokia ones. oh well, back to the drawing board I think!
