Denison Gateway Question

Hi All

Couple of questions for anyone with the Denison Gateway 300 (or other Denison):
Can you navigate artists / albums on the ipod via the steering wheel controls?
Will the artist / song title display on the Business CD display (the single CD player, not the nav)?
Is it any good? :D (Was thinking initially about the intravee, but it seems overkill just to play my ipod, plus I've heard the intravee isn't nearly as good on the non-nav units).

Cheers

Si

I have the GW300 and think it's great! Don't have MFSW though so don't know about those controls.

Off of the headunit, to give you an idea, you select different CD 1 to 5 to display:
Playlists
Albums
Artists
Songs
So, say press CD3 to display an album name and then use the <> buttons to scroll through them and stop when you get to the one that you want. After you have selected it will begin playing - after around 10 seconds the display changes to the track name.

If the text is too long for the display then it scrolls across to the end, clears and then goes back to the start, where it holds for around 5 seconds before scrolling again.

Yeah you're right, you can't make the most of the Intravee with the Business CD.

Would definitely buy again if I don't get a car with nav.

Another nice thing is that the Dension unit fits nicely into the glovebox - I have mine Velcroed to the top and the iPod mounted to the back.

If / when you buy you may need some additional bits if you have DSP.

You can download the instruction manual from the Dension web site which will probably help more!

The controls on the MFSW only allows you to scroll and change track on any selection you have made on the head unit, playlists artists etc, Pawnsacrifice has pretty well covered all it does

Thanks for the replies. Will definitely be picking one up, I think.

Another question: Is it an easy enough self-install? Am I right in thinking that the GW300 goes straight into the back of the headunit, rather than plugging into the CD changer cable as the intravee does?

Cheers

Si.

Si, very easy... I managed it

It goes into the headunit and uses the CD changer connection.

This thread has some more info with pics of where it's located on my Z...

Biggest issue is getting the air vents out... technically a doddle, but my gosh its a faff! Just don't lose your patience with it. That said some people have had no issues. Plenty on posts on here on how to get them out - IIRC I posted a YouTube clip about the vet removal.

One final thing I didn't realise, you need to order the iPod cable separately - I've used the dock kit.
