When paying £60k for a car, I expect at least a full fuel tank. So warned them that when I arrived a few days back, that I wanted to see a car with a full tank. So they had to pop out and fill it up ...

That increased the mileage total to 5 :D

Do Chandlers still chuck in a bunch of flowers?

when I bought my fist BMW (from Chandlers) it was their policy to supply a full tank, so when I bought my second from Vines they had to supply a full tank, bunch of flowers for the Mrs. The salesman said I'm not even going to try and ask you for the Admin fee to transfer the Registration. :D

Mileage on 1 series I picked up on may was 11 IIRC

1 mile  1/4 tank of fuel and a big bouquet of flowers for the missus
The SLK had a cracking Mercedes umbrella, but this may have been due to the 6 months to fix the roof leak that we had shortly after buying :poke:

Think my 1'er had about 6 when it was new last year, but that included 2 trips for fuel because he had only put half in (despite telling me he'd filled it up!) so off he went again to get the rest!

He told me when the car comes off the production line it goes round a test track to check for rattles etc, so that is a few miles, and if problems are found it goes back into the factory to rectify, then test again.

Assume this is the same for the Z4. He said 7 series cars get tested on the the streets and get about 60 miles on them, but that a car like that can't have any issues when delivered.

That said the best one I ever had was when I bought my first car a new alfa 156. Full tank of full, an alfa golf brolly and a mixed case of Italian wines of ok quality.

No flowers from Eastern and about 3/8 tank of fuel.

They did throw in £100 of vouchers towards servicing, accessories or lifestyle products because the car hadn't been cleaned properly when I first went to pick it up, so it was compensation for the extra 3 days I had to wait.

Also got a voucher which entitles us some sort of professional photo session and a decent sized print of our chosen photo. (I've given this to the girlfriend - she wants a pic of us to put on the livigroom wall...)

Took them 3 days to clean it?

Be carefull of that photoshoot, its probably a loss-leader voucher to get you in, then you'll get the hard sell to buy more. If you can stick to the free one, then its ok.

Best by far was Performance Center Delivery on our US X3.

We got dinner, bed and breakfast, 1/2 day of professional driving instruction, lunch, hot lap in an M5, 2 hr. delivery from an expert, two laps on their off-road course, 1lb. of coffee in the boot and a pair BMW travel mugs. We also got a rain check for a factory tour.

Well I was collecting the car on Saturday afternoon and the valet team weren't in again til Monday. So I could have go it on Monday evening but Tuesday was more convenient for me. So 3 days...

I don't really want to go for the photo session anyway (but the girlfriend can be very insistent) so any signs of handing over money I'll be running a mile and dragging her with me!
