Delivery date - keeps getting pushed back

My misordered car was a white on red 1.8, assuming its actually been delivered last week as originally stated its sitting round waiting to be bought. Given what you've mentioned, that seems unlikely though. My reorder is looking at August, but to be honest if it comes then, I'd rather it was registered on a 63 plate.
 
My only issue is that I got such a good deal on my car. If i go to another dealer I dont think they will match it, so i might just go for a pre reg rather than new.

My list price was £33800 and I am only paying £26,300. Most of the dealers are selling ex demo 13 plates for 29K.

This summer has been crap, might have to forget the z4 and go for something else now. :(
 
Manufacturers have reduced production over the last 3/4 years so cars don't flood the market, but to your average punter means there's now a backlog - so much so I had to wait 6 months longer for my A3 in 2010.

That suggests to me there is a problem with your car that they are fixing. There really is no reason for a car to be still in Germany when plenty of others have been making their way to the UK.

I think you may now struggle to get as good a deal as you previously got with your initial transaction as there wasn't as much discount last quarter and it's about to become blisteringly hot (for a few hours anyway) so all the preregistered cars will sell without needing massive additional discount. And if they are not the spec you want there seems little point... It really is a shame you have been let down.
 
Maybe they are having build problems. They have to rely on suppliers from all over the place, problems with suppliers will impact on build.

No mate, normal audio.. Only options are 19inch alloys, heated seats and comfort pack. Im sure they cant have issues with that, they are the most common options.

I emailed the dealer just now to get a proper response of why it is delayed rather than "we don't know". They said they will get back to me later today... i bet they dont lol.

It's becoming more of a pain now, I am not excited at all for it...just want it bloody delivered so I can move on with my life haha.
 
This must be so annoying. I think i would have asked for the cash back and told them to stick the car somewhere unpleasant. I hope you get a proper response from the dealer and the car soon.

I have given them some stick but then again, there's nothing they can do really to speed it up. They said they can only go by what BMW Germany tell them. They have already put a request to prioritse my delivery but it seems to be going backwards rather than forwards lol.

To be honest, ive waited so long I don't care too much about waiting an extra week as long as they provide me with a loan car for my trip to Scotland.

If they do that, I don't care about waiting until the end of the month...
I don't see what the issue is with giving me a loan car, apparently it comes through enterprise car rentals. Yes it will cost them money, but surely thats better than losing a sale!

Instead of coming up with a solution which will benefit both of us, they would rather sit on their arse and wait and just say it is out of their hands.
 
You would have thought they would have a second hand zed 4 in stock to keep you happy.

Anyway i hope its delivered soon and you get what you need to not sour the new car :thumbsup:
 
After all my bitching and moaning I have finally got a more productive and positive response from my dealer!

BMW have confirmed the absolute latest the car will arrive is the 20th of July (but still a slight possibility it may come earlier).

As for my trip on the 11th, the dealer has agreed to loan me one of their cars for 2 weeks! Even though the delay has been a pain, at least they have finally come up with a suitable solution. :D
 
Z4 will finally be ready a week on Saturday! It's in the UK now :)

So I realised what happened but the dealer wont admit it..

When I bought my car they said they will replace their current order for an orange z4 (which they wanted for the showroom due on 26th june) with my one so that I wouldnt have to wait too long for mine...

Mine conveniently kept getting delayed later to find out it wasnt built until last week. I popped in to the dealer yesterday to pick up a loan car and surprise surprise...a brand new orange z4 in the showroom.... So they clearly didnt just change their order and created a brand new one for me and blatantly knew it wouldnt arrive by the end of june.

Anyways I got a top spec 2013 120d msport off them for two weeks for free so at least im not putting mileage on the z4 for my trip up in Scotland. The 1 series is ugly (i preferred the older one) but its a brilliant car to drive...a lot of fun.
 
Can't say I'm surprised given my situation. How did you find out it was built last week? I've heard conflicting things about build to delivery times.
 
Got the call today, it's finally at the dealers! Driving back from the Open golf on Monday to pick it up...hopefully I will make it in time before the dealership closes!

I hope they dont mind me returning the 1 series loan car dirty because it is absolutely filthy covered in mud and dirt haha!
 
From all the problems that you've had,there wouldn't be any tread on the rears on the 1 series loan car if i'd had it :evil:
 
Yea hopefully pick it up Monday afternoon. Just sorted my 7 day complimentary insurance but they refused to give me an annual quote due to my age lol. I wouldnt use them anyways, rip off!

I would only use the freebie insurance to allow the dealer to get the Tax Disc!
