Hi, we’ve got a family member nearby that fabricates items from metal for a living so wanting some replacement railings for our pond we asked him to come up with something.
It’s a good job we like rustic/quirky as these are fairly unusual, very pleased with them.
Didn’t want them painted or galvanised, just letting them turn rusty red, they’re very substantial so will probably outlast me :P

Look cool.
Theres a house we used to pass near Lanark that had a perimeter fence on top of a wall like this except it was painted black with the ball bits silver.

Ta, think I’ll paint the lower part of the posts in red oxide just where they sit in the ground. Shouldn’t stand out so much when they turn rusty then.

What, not going to protect your balls Rob?
I’m going al fresco with those

I'd have thought it was a bit chilly for that just now!

We had a thing up these parts that looked a bit ordinary when it was first put on display. When it turned "red and rusty" it looked fantastic.
You may have heard of it. The Angel of the North

Have you never heard of the saying "only cockneys and pikeys paint their finials silver or gold"? :D

They look great and well made, always like something thats hand made and not off the shelf

I bought this wind spinner last year, needed 4 hands to put the blooming thing together
