Deep Sea Bling

Kit looks good, might have to invest :D

Bit off-topic but I take it the chances of me burning through the paintwork with that polisher are minimal :idunno:

I would say so! You don't need to press too firmly against the paintwork with the machine, and as long as you are sensible about polish and pad, it *should* be fine! There are many threads on detailingworld which I read in detail before I set out on the Zed.

I'm always ultra cautious about making sure the nut for holding the plastic backing plate in place is tight!!!

Really miss my DSB.

When done right the colour looks great like yours.

Quality of the paint on these cars is rubbish though.

Very easily marked and water spots ruin my happiness

Seems most cars are this way now though.

@Wondermike. With the Das6 there is little risk of damage. Just start with the least aggressive pad and compound combo and increase if your not getting the desired results.

That looks lovely - great work on the detailing front there  Deep Sea Blue is a gorgeous colour and yours looks ace :)

Good to hear what products you were using too - I've got a G220 so hearing what others have used to good effect is handy. Should hopefully save me some time experimenting with pad & polish combos - already got Menz IP and FF, along with the 3M stuff and pads so I should be sorted! 8)

Anyone slightly concerned about it I'd also recommend reading the guides on DW, but also what I found the most helpful was actually going along to some of the meets to see the pros using the equipment. I've also got a mate who does detailing part time, so learning from (and helping!) him really gave me the confidence to have a bash myself. So much so, I'm comfortable doing paintwork repairs and wet sanding - all of which have turned out fine so far *crosses fingers*!

Now if someone could just show me how to get more hours out of a day so I can find some time to actually put it to use, that would be perfect!
