Deep cleaning steering wheels

So a lot of us will have cars that are a few years old, mine is 17 years old and I don’t think the wheel has been deep cleaned since it was driven out of the showroom.

For hygiene and aesthetic reasons I spent no more than half an hour getting all that built up grime and oils from the many owners before me.

Here is how I did it, click on the link below, just be aware that it only needs to be a very light pressure with the magic sponge as it’s almost like a very fine sandpaper.

i did this over the weekend, its really upsetting the first time you realize the grain on your steering wheel hasn't worn away but has intsead filled up!

Nice video how-to.
I did this a while back but just with water and a magic eraser, so may tackle again with some proper leather cleaner.

If you practice you can make sure the sneeze lands only on your passenger it they are there.

Used IPA and a toothbrush on my steering wheel when I bought mine 4 years ago.

The seller didn't bother cleaning it before the sale as it was a car he had to buy in order to secure the M3 that he really wanted from the previous owner. A bit contrived I thought but ultimately I was left with the rather urgent requirement to give the zed's interior a massive deep clean. It was proper filthy.

I remember thinking on the drive from Coventry to Liverpool after flying in from NL and then collecting it that I would need a long bath by the time I arrived at my place in Liverpool, but that ikky feeling was overshadowed by the excitement of being able to drive it all the way back with the top down on a balmy late summer evening!

2nd day of ownership. Deep cleaned, parked up and keeping a 320d convertible company.

They do the same but 5 mins later it drops down on their head :lol:
