Hi All, many thanks to those of you who provided feedback to my earlier questions about engine variants and colour options.
I have now made my purchase and opted for a low mileage (5,600) 2012 Z4 (E89) 28i in Melbourne Red with Beige interior. The car is about as well spec'd as I could have hoped for. I have however already added the Smart Top and am awaiting the arrival of a Stubby arial. I may debadge the back of the car and may add MGP brake calliper covers (jury is out on both of these at the moment).
Thus far am very pleased with the car. Previous rides have included a 987 Boxter S and a 997 C2S so was a little concerned about how this car would drive. If honest nothing comes close to the Boxters incredible poise and handling and the Z4 obviously doesn't match the 997 for performance. That said what this car does offer me is a quality hard top convertible with bags of performance and (hopefully) no real hassle.
I spent a long time looking for the right car and am delighted with my purchase. Despite being a 4 cylinder engine the performance is very good and sounds great when pushed. The Smart Top is an easy to install mod and to my mind we'll worth the money.
Pictures will follow when I get the chance, however am pretty sure you have all seen a red Z4 with beige interior before
Thanks again for previous feedback, have spent ages trawling through the pages of this forum, it's a great friendly place for useful information.
Cheers
