Dechrome Grill?

I've had my Z4 M Coupe for a couple of weeks now and the modding bug appears to have taken hold. I'm on holiday next week so it will be getting fitted with CSL's, a ZHP gearknob and an Intravee II.... whilst I'm at it I was thinking of de-chroming the grill surrounds and covering them with a black carbon wrap (my car is Sapphire Black).

Is this a step too far? I'm very conscious of how lots of little mods can take something from tasteful to barry'esque.... does anyone have pics of black surrounds on a black car?

Cheers!

You can buy black grills if that takes your fancy, i'd imagine the end product will look infinitely better than carbon wrap!

Whats a ZHP gearknob?

This is a ZHP gear knob:

The OEM item in my car had a slight nick in the leather that was bugging me so I decided to splash out... apparently it feels nicer to use as well due to a shorter throw.

Calm down Calm down

Cost me £5 to wrap mine max with an off cut of vinyl I got from eBay. Sharp Stanley knife and hairdryer. Requires an assistant, but VERY easy.

I would go for satin black instead of carbon.
