Decent cheap windscreen wiper blades...

Hi all

I'm a Z4 newbie, and i've been really impressed with the advice i've had on here... so i'm after some more.

I have a 53 reg E85 roadster and i want to get some cheapish new wiper blades.

What do you recommend?
 
welcome :)
decent & cheap ? not usually 2 words that go together in carpart world .
put your reg details into http://www.eurocarparts.com/ & they have a choice of wipers at various prices .
for me wipers are like tyres / ie / i want em to work as well as possible so spend a few quid more .
think a decent set is around £15 ?
 
If you have a mate with a Costco card, they do Goodyear Aerofoil wipers for about £7, probably the cheapest I know
 
Standard Bosch blades. Aero ones don't hug the windscreen properly on the near side

I've had a set of Trico Neoform slim blades from Opie a couple of years back and thought they performed quite well, apart from the inch or so of the passenger side one that doesn't meet the screen.

I was going to replace them with another set but saw the Costco offer earliernthisnyear on the Goodyear ones, and thought I'd give them a try. Big mistake, as now the passenger one sites proud, but the driver's one doesn't wipe properly in a 2-3 inch band almost directly at eye level.

Going back to either the Neoform ones or Bosch spoiler ones.

I got these and had similar problems - the passenger one 'flapped' at speed a little, and the driver's one lifted a huge amount at the bottom at anything over 50mph. Went back to the standard Bosch super plus ones.
 
I just buy the factory bosch rubber refill for $12 USD a set. As opposed to the full wiper blade replacements @ $52 USD. Takes but a few minutes to swap out.

Mine did that until I turned them round, might be worth a try.

I got the bosch replacement for some reason they would not sit correctly so i dismantled them and swapped the rubber with the oem ones and job done.... :thumbsup:
 
not wipers but my local 99p shops are doing rainex type stuff for the windsrceen....
works ok

The adapter was already fitted on the centre, so I assumed they would be fixed.

Will see if I can remove and flip.
 
Don't buy cheap wiper blades,buy the best ones.I hate not being able to see where I'm going, so I always get the best I can find.Got some Bosch ones on and they are great.Can't remember how much they were. Remember this, "Quality is remembered long after price is forgotten".

But you also have to remember that price isn't necessarily a guarantee of quality - sometimes it's simply that a big brand product can get away with being more greedy than a no-name product.
