Debica Presto UHP2 or Hankook Ventus V12 any experience

I have been holding off getting the RFTs off my 108s as they still have 5-6mm tread, but I just can't stand the harsh ride and tramlining I get around the country lanes I have to drive on.

My cashflow isn't great at the moment so I am looking for as good a tyre as I can get at an affordable price.

The Debica Presto UHP2 appears to get very good user reviews http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Debica/Presto-UHP2.htm and is said to be owned by goodyear. It is also very affordable.

Alternatively the Hankook Ventus V12 Evo 2 appears to get user and tyre test reviews http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Hankook/Ventus-V12-evo2.htm

Has anyone fitted either of these tyres? what are your opinions?

Key requirements for me are: stopping in wet, comfort and handling in dry.
 
i had hankook ventus V12s on an older 350z... never had any problems with them. they did seem to have a relatively soft sidewall, so were good and comfortable, possibly at the expense of razor sharp handling. but a perfectly fine tyre.

have you considered Avons? got some ZZ5s on my 330d at the moment, again no complaints and very reasonably priced.
 
Until the end of this month Michelin are doing £50 cashback on 4 x 18" tyres, makes the Pilot Sport 4 around the same price as the Hankooks.

I've ran a set of these on my Mercedes E350 for around 25k miles and they're superb tyres.
 
I’ve had the Hankooks on my previous Z4 and they were great but would have the Michelins if the price was the same. Never heard of the other make you were asking about

Hi Mister T. I've been looking online for the pilot 4s tried 6 different tyre suppliers and nobody lists it in 255/35R18 (not saying it's not available, just not is stock). The closest I can get is Pilot 3 for rear and pilot 4 for front but the best price available is £550 per set, compared to £394 for Hankook and £320 for Debica.
 
I just purchased a set of vredestein ultrac Vorti's in staggered fitment for £275 (after my £60 cashback) from camskill. Great price for the quality of Tyre. I've had this brand fitted for a good while now and they're great for the cost.

I had Hankook S1 evo2's before the vredesteins and they were great until they wore to about 4mm and then were dreadful.

Thanks for that, they have just become a contender, the £60 cashback offer appears dead but they still seam to come out at £294 the set. Are you local to camskill? if not how much did it cost to get them fitted?

I plan on getting them fitted when the alloys go for a refurb, so it'll only cost me £20 for disposal of the old tyres.

Usually I get them fitted by a local garage, but they charged me £20 per Tyre last time, so they've lost my custom now.
 
Don't think you would be at all disappointed with the Ventus V12 , they perform well over what their pricepoint would suggest .
The others ive no idea on , the Vredestein mentioned above are also top performers for reasonable money
 
Having looked into it a bit more I realise I can get Bridgestone Turanza T005 or Dunlop SP Sportmaxx RT2 for an extra £25 a set I'm coming down in favour of the Bridgestone based on reviews because it has one of the lowest rolling resistances.

The reason the Dunlop has a higher rolling resistance, is that it's a 'max performance' tyre vs the Bridestone's 'touring tyre'.

The only thing the Vreds (max performance tyre) lose out to the Bridgestone in is the wet performance - but the Tyre Review site isn't scientific, it's just user scores - so if you thought your supertyre was going to be brilliant in the rain and it wasn't you may give it a worse score than if you expected it to be terrible in the rain.

Depending what you want out of the tyre, the Bridgestone or the Dunlop or the Vredestein might be what you're after?

One thing I notice the official labels don't mention is the wear rating - e.g. the Continental equivalent of the Michelin (in the past it was Conti M3 vs Michelin PS2) would provide similar performance, but last half as long - so the 25% saving made in fitting the Conti would be wiped out when you need to replace them twice as frequently.

Here's a TyreReviews sumer tyre test for comparison and to give you some more options. Pick whatever scale is most important to you and buy them.
