Dealership Paint Job - What would you do?

So ive got my car going into BMW bodyshop next week to have some paint work done as part of the 10 year paint and body work guarantee. There is a small amount of bubbling under the bonnet which im worried might get worse. You cant see it unless your under the bonnet but if BMW should sort it I thought I might as well.

They have agreed to treat and paint the underside of the bonnet.

I have today asked about the cost of getting the rest of the bonnet and front wings painted at the same time, purely for cosmetic reasons and I have been quoted £400+VAT (£480)

Would you pay for this much to have it done?

I probably would - as you'll always have comeback if it fails. What's their guarantee timeline for paintwork?

Personally no that seems expensive, I know I could get it a lot cheaper at an independent body shop, but for main dealer its not a bad price if you really want to use them

I did think its not exactly cheap. But for main dealer its not bad i guess. Ive not gone into the details about guarantee at this stage, it was more just an enquiry. Thing is the bonnet isnt actually that bad. There is a spot from a previous owner where they have touched it up

They are giving me a car to use for 4 days just to do the repairs under warranty. It likely to only take them 2 days but ill drop the car off the night before and not collect until the saturday.

Hopefully ill get a nice new I8 or M4/M5 for a few days :driving: Dreaming

I'm sure I read some where that the bonnets on Z's were made from aluminium, if so, it shouldn't be rusting ??.
That's not a bad price for the front end of the car to be painted an at dealer prices too :)
