Dealership called, quality enhancement due!

Ps there were another couple of E89s sitting so hopefully loads of practice before getting to yours

I was at my dealer today on another matter with the wifes car but mentioned the vents on the Z4 to the service guy.

He was aware of it and they had had a few in for it but was adamant that the bumper didn't need to be removed :o

So can someone tell me exactly what needs to be done and how long do they allow for it?

Dealer is telling me an hour tops and will do it while I wait :headbang:

Mine was dropped off at 8am and done by 11am. Not had a great look as wife picked it up on way to airport. I just had a look in the passing at dealer for bumps and scrapes. I'll check screw heads etc on thurs to see if bumper has been off.
The fact it had to go to bodyshop instead of service leads me to believe that bumper needs to come off though!

Mine went in yesterday @ 8:00am and they phoned just after 3pm to say it was ready. I also got the brake fluid, oil and microfilter changed (£270... ker ching). Bumper looks fine, fits perfectly and seems tight enough!

Crikey, my 35i just had the same, recall, oil, filters, brake fluid etc... £360! Either its way cheaper to live in Glasgow, or I need to find another dealer.... :headbang:

Price was £299, but I presented my 10% "Platinum" card that the dealer issued me with when I bought the car, and they reduced it to £270. I thought this was an ok price.

From memory, the cost of labour was £170....

See yer fluid stuff, when does this need done as mine is now 17 months old with nearly 13k miles. The service indicator on startup says 11k. Dealer said I only need to bring it in when this counts down.
Also on fluid subject my oil indicator when driving car (car was cold oil temp right down) was midway between max and min.
Should this test be done when stationary??
Or do I need a bit of oil and if I do what oil is in these?
I dont have car its locked up in Glasgow airport carpark with service and manual book in it :headbang:

When you turn the car on, it will tell you if it needs a service. At first it lights up yellow, mine did this when brake fluid was due, but for oil it just said 05/2011. Then at the start of May the symbol turned red and it said it was overdue! In the iDrive you can look at each component in turn - and see when it will need done. It will be two years at most though, if your mileage is low.

This is the first BMW that I haven't added any additional oil to in the first 2 years.

No need to worry - it will let you know when it needs a visit to DP's :D :P

I don't have idrive  but I have went through the menus on the dash. 11k till service due not bad cost and ownership wise TBH for a grea car

There's both a date and miles part to it... not sure how you get the detail on the dash without idrive, but mine also said 11k left... then a week later went 'its 05/11... oil and brake fluid service required!' On closer inspection the display showed (oil service due 11000 miles / 05/11) which I now know to mean, whichever comes first.

The dealer said leave it till the indicator tells you to come in. He said he had a 23 month old Zed just in for it's first service the other day :)

havent had notice of this from BMW... do we def know if it's for all models or what year ?
guess i could just call the dealer...
