Dealership called, quality enhancement due!

I've not had a letter or phone call about mine either, but this doesn't really surprise me as I think my dealer is probably heading for the most useless and incompetent dealer of 2011 award. :?

I'm planning to book it in for a service in a week or so, and will bring it to their attention.

Went into Hillington and there is a defo recall. But it has to go into bodyshop as whole bumper needs to come off. Parts need ordered etc. Nice to know eh!!!!
Glad my detail has not been done yet
They did look a bit shocked that I asked about this off the cuff. Water comes in rear vents and can short out control unit under floor in boot.
Carpet out boot tonight for a look!!!

Why are they not actively contacting customers to arrange this, since there is risk of damage to a control unit? :headbang:

I'll give them a phone.

Car booked in on Tues as missus working in London Tues to Thurs so don't need curtesy car either. First trip to this branch let's see how they go. Car will be washed thoroughly on Monday night inside and out and will be telling them not to touch it.
Interesting to see how panel gaps are when I get it back.

... :? I'll wait to hear how you get on next week then give them a phone. :P Will they definitley have the parts by next Tuesday?

Yup mines in for brake fluid and oil/filters etc this Monday... plus a free 'performance enhancement'.. otherwise known as preventing water from leaving you stranded in the middle of nowhere.

Mine needed a new mounting guide after the bumper was refitted. :( It was fixed last week.

Guys, mine seemed to go without a hiccup although now you're getting me paranoid, time to get the magnifying glass and micrometer out :)

After the dealer replaced the air vents, the first thing I checked was the fitting of the bumper. The off-side was bit loose and came out from the mounting by 2mm.

Exactly I'm getting camera and micrometer out before it goes in. I might sound anal about it but car is mint with 12K on it from new. Don't want ant shite scratches etc on it that I havent caused

Mine is in next Wednesday for this and also for engine oil and brake fluid. This will let them practice on your car first! :P :poke:

They also sounded surprised on the phone when I mentioned the recall - "really, oh?" ... as if to say how did I know about it! :D

Might see you, it's getting dropped off Tues morning picked up Thurs morning if ready or Thurs after work if not. Not taking curtesy car as missus is in London.
Better not take longer or will be demanding a motor on thursday. :|
When it was in for water in lights we got a bog standard black E89 with cloth interior :(

Well mines back from the oil and brake fluid service, and the recall for the vents... no notable issues other than I had to click a small bit of the bumper back on the right side.. noticed it was out a few mm...

They did not really check the fitting before returning the car to the customer. :(

Not long finished cleaning mine inside and out and it's getting dropped off at 8am tomorrow. Car is spotless and I'll be asking them not to wash it either.
Let's see if that happens

Might even take some photos or get body shop manager to walk round it before leaving it

On a side note noticed another two new chips on nose and one has a tiny bit of rust FFS. I mean tiny but I know it's there :headbang:
12k miles on a 15 month car and it's got rust

Car done by 11am!!! Wife picked it up at 2pm on way tO airport. I checked it about 12 outside dealers and all looked well. Two greasy thumb prints on bumper but all looking good ( I did ask them not to wash it)

That's good to know. Mine in tomorrow for oil/brake fluid and bumper recall. I'm also going to ask them to look at what I think is a noisy fuel pump. :?

Fuel pump is normal I think as mine has always had a bit of a hum from it. The Slk was the same I think it may be where it is in the car and lack of sound deadening.
Let me know if a problem as I may stick mine back in
