Dealer warranty vs aftermarket e.g. AA Gold warranty

There's a few non dealer specialists offering warranties through the AA Gold Warranty scheme / protection.

Does anyone have any actual experience of using these non dealer schemes? Any horror stories with claim processes, or is it just as good as having a dealer warranty?

Am seeing this offered a lot from specialists, which sounds good, however, not sure if it's better to pay extra for official dealer cars.

I'd either go no warranty and a rainy day fund, or a BMW insured warranty.

Wouldn't bother with any other option.

What if potential rainy day funds required would start edging 5figures, for cars such as Astons, Masers, Porsches etc, sure warranty is a safe option...

You really need to check the T&Cs of what's covered and how much it will cover in the event of a claim. You don't want to find it only covers £1k when you may have a significant bill.

Some aftermarket warranties work well but it's always worth checking if the manufacturer offers a warranty and if so how much for, it could end up a better option in the end.
