Got the following text message from my local dealer, "Cooper BMW Durham stock required. Can we buy your quality used BMW? Top price offered contact XXXXX".
As I'm looking to change the car this year I thought I'd give them a ring just out of interest I took the car in this morning and the salesman had a quick look round it and then it went into the the workshop for the technician to give it the once over watched has they poked and prodded it whilst it was on the ramp.

The salesman came back in to speak to me he told me a rear spring has gone and both rear tyres would have to be changed they are above legal limits but don't pass AUC criteria he said I want the car but it's going to cost him a £1000 to get it back up to AUC condition so I was expecting a low offer but was surprised when he offered £9000,told him there is outstanding finance on the car so he went away to see what it was the outstanding finance is £9650.
after a bit of discussion he raised his offer to £9300 which would leave me £350 to pay off the balance.

The car is currently on PCP so I was just thinking off handing it back but he told me that I would have to get the rear spring fixed replace the RFT's but the salesmen would take it as is imo it is a good offer but what is your thoughts on it?

Tell him to do one! That's a ridiculous offer and those mails are designed to lure you into the showroom.

Have you checked the value online with Glasses, and at the dumb end, WBAC?

At the moment there is a huge lack of good cars.

We are paying over the odds for good cars.

Auction cars are fetching 1k over the cap.

It's amazing.

This is forecast to continue in the near future.

had a look a glasses with a basic valuation,
Trade price, £7,100 - £9,880.

Private price £10,730 - £13,430

Dealer price £12,010 - £14,680

They lured me into the showroom but I'm not looking at a BMW if that was there plan it didn't work
