Dealer Visit - Sytner Sheffield - Sunday, 11th oct

Having offered much support by way of tombola and Prize Draw prizes for our concours at Chatsworth we have now confirmed an Open morning for us at SYTNER SHEFFIELD from 10.00am till lunchtime.
They shall have some new models available for viewing and (poss) some test drives, guided tour of the workshop where they will have a couple of technicians if anyone wishes to have their cars inspected, and visit to their AWARD winning bodyshop. They will also put on some light refreshments.
The management and our contact Glen Slater- Parts manager have been keen to get more involved with the car club so a good turnout would be much appreciated from both sides.

This can be followed by an afternoon drive into the Peak District with a late lunch somewhere nice.

Please PM me if you want to come - name and car details please.

Hi Nick,

I'd be interested in attending this, make some new contacts etc, check out from what I've heard is quite a reputable dealership (I've had mixed experiences with Williams BMW in Manchester).
From Manchester I can get to Sheffield within an hour (caravans and HGVs permitting) so I'll do my best on the day to pop over and hopefully find reassurance that there are garages out there that pride themselves on doing good work.

I won't be able to make it unfortunately, but ever since 2007 Sytner Sheffield has had glowing reports. It is a rarity (in the UK) to find a dealership that is so popular amongst enthusiasts (we have higher standards than most).I would be most interested to hear the feedback from this event. It would be good it is became a regular occurrence :)

Sytner Sheffield is excellent. I can't praise them enough they are just great.

I'm not sure what i'm doing yet on the 11th but seeing as it's only 10 minutes away i'll see what i can do. Although i'm going out in Chesterfield the night before so may not be up til after lunchtime anyway

How many do you tend to get at these sort of things? Considering popping over.

I'd have loved to have come over to see what a 'proper' dealer looks like, and scope it out for possible future inspections/warranty work. However I doubt I'll have my car back then and there's no way I'm coming in a diesel Focus.

TBH, I don't know it's not like we do one every week - this is the first time in a long time.
Back in the dim and distant when all the dealerships were privately run they all tended to be 'corporate' members of the Car Club and we used to go round them in rotation.. and they would always try to outdo one-another with the amount of cars on demo, or the prizes for the raffle. One time we had a full on buffet that would have done for one of the Queens garden parties.. I think that was at Malton.. it would not have been hard to attract around a 100 members to something like that.. this time, realistically I should say around 40.
..But come on, suprise me - put your name in and come on down. It's uncommon to find a dealer with such enthusiasm, let's give them our full support.

I'm starting a list so that I can advise them how many to cater for.
If you would like to come please add your name.

Don't think I've got a match on Sunday this week, so should be good for this. Ed, are we meeting anywhere before to drive over? Shall we message Pete too?
