I'm suprised they gave you the 335i. Even if it was crashed, it wasn't bad enough to be written off and I assume it was repaired properly? Good on you though mate, I wouldn't want a car that had been heavily smashed either.
 
Game over. Surprise surprise BMW have washed their hands of it.

Harry Fairbairn haven't even given me the decency of a response to my last communication with them.

So given that I'm fed up persuing this (despite maybe having a case) I've decided to give up. I'm sure some of you will say about time too!

When all this started I was very impressed by Mark Sleith at Harry Fairbairn in Glasgow as he seemed to be doing all he could to help me and was very good throughout the buying process. Turns out a "car at no cost to myself" was a bare faced lie or at best being convenient with the facts which is £500 towards a trade in (chances of actually seeing the £500 are slim I reckon anyway).

So I'm afraid, that despite the fact that the original issue could've been avoided if I'd just checked myself, the bull that I was fed by Mark (why did I think any different - car salesman after all) means that I won't be darkening Harry Fairbairns door ever again. I'm pretty sure they'll be glad too.

This one is now chalked up to experience and I won't be as silly next time. 
