Dealer repairs using third party parts

Hi all,
Looking to get my top motor replaced on my z4.
Dealer here in Canada wants 828. Just for the pump/motor.
I can get it from the u.s. From bmwpartscenter for 322.
It s a genuine bmw original part. Apparently the same part the dealers get.
Is there any reason they would not honor the part and it's warranty if I provided it.
It's they same part, same no. Just 500. Less.
Want to avoid them saying they didn't supply the part so I am on the hook for labor again should the part fail.
Thanks
Ken

In the UK, I think the warranty would be ok. Not sure about Canadian law etc through :|

Is it a GENUINE BMW part with BMW logo or a just the non-branded part from the OE manufacturer?

It may be the same to all intents & purposes, but part of the extra cost BMW will charge for the branded part will cover their margin for warranty/goodwill claims, so don't expect BMW to honour a warranty on a part that they've not supplied.

If you're not going to pay to use BMW-branded parts then why pay for BMW to fit it when you could get any garage to do so?
