Dead but not fully

Went out to the Zed this afternoon, jumped in put in key,give it a turn and.......click!! Try again.....click!!..... :x

Dead battery..Again!!...jumped it off the ever willing Mazda, which I have left for over a month without the battery dying, go figure....

took it out for a blat down local motorway to get a bit back in it and it now has my old Oximizer from my biking days just trickling a liittle bit of juice back into the battery. Hopefully it will do the trick......

The only other car I have ever owned that was as fickle as this one for not being started for a couple weeks was way back in the early 80's and was a proper mini...

I have had the battery checked and apparently it's fine.......... :headbang:
 
Have you got a tracker fitted? When they age they can cause a large electrical drain which hammers the battery :x

The battery isn't going be fine now it's gone flat - will never hold the same amount of charge again.

If your drain takes less than a week or two then something is causing it which will be worth trying to find.

Until then pop a new one in, preferably with the highest capacity you can find and keep it on the trickle when not in use. Or disconnect at the battery.

Not that I'm aware of. Don't have any paperwork to say as such...

Think I'll go through all the paperwork I have and see if/when a new battery was last fitted. It may be due a fresh one now anyhow. Thanks for the heads up. :thumbsup:
 
I had this problem a few years ago on a Crossfire convertible, Was doing my head in when battery was dead after just 2 to 3 days. Having looked over everything, found it to be the internal boot light permanently on!
 
Do you have a voltmeter? worth checking to see how big the drain is and if the battery is running at the right voltage when the engine is running.

Checked the centre storage light? If the pin breaks off that stays on a while.

Bit like checking to see if the fridge light goes off when you shut the door........ :rofl:
