Dead battery X3, within 2 weeks - short circuit in radio??

I have searched and read all the posts on his forum regarding "Battery discharged." There are MANY posts on this topic.

Has anyone found a common culprit that causes these batteries to drain within a day or two of non-use?? I have now gone thru 3 batteries in less than 2 weeks, and I am convinced that it is not a question of the battery itself. There is absolutely no reason to keep a car of this high a caliber on a trickle charger, when none of the comparable luxury cars with even more potential electronics drains never need a trickle.

Here's the story:
My 07 Z4 coupe gets driven every 10 days or so. It resides inside in a garage. I have not had a battery problem for 3 years straight.
Well, about 10 days ago, the car did not start -- dead battery. I thought No Problem, the battery is the original battery dating back to 2007, so it was about time to end its life (Damn fine battery!)

I put in a relatively new, REALLY GOOD high end battery (about 1 year old). I even topped it off with the charger for 24hrs before putting it in. Within 2 days sitting in the garage, same thing! DEAD! And I mean DEAD -- voltage was so low that the charger would not charge it.

So I bought a new battery -- again, I made sure it was fully charged. Two days later, again no driving, DEAD also! Voltage down around 2.5V.

Well, I'm now using the old trick to fool the battery charger by hooking a good battery in series, while charging the old battery, and the batteries are picking up the charge again.

But, that's not my problem. The problem is, What is causing three batteries to drain sooooo low within just a few days?

Funny thing is that the radio has been acting up. Just after I hooked up the new batteries and turned the key, the radio suddenly came on very loudly (but it took the key turning to come on).
When I was driving the car, sometimes the radio would not turn on, and sometimes it would cut off by itself after being on and not turn back on.

Has anyone had similar problems?
I always make sure the radio and all controls are OFF after driving the car.

Any ideas where or how to check?
Are there any factory recalls or known and common non-recall problems that cause these massive and quick battery drains?
Thanks.

you need to do a parasitic drain test.

Can you re-post that YouTube link for parasitic drain test -- or spell out the link? For some reason, it does not appear on my screen -- just a blank space instead.
Thanks.

Could be the final stage resister (hedgehog). Common problem on the E46. Keeps the fan going from memory so battery soon drains.
