Dead Battery - A Win For Me

Well cold weather brings out the best in a battery and with the morning temp at 0F/-18C I could not start my Zed the other morning. I hooked up a battery charger and switched it to the 50 Amp boost mode and then started with no problem. A quick trip to my dealer and they confirmed that the battery had failed and would be replaced under warranty. About an hour later I was on my way with a new battery installed. As I am approaching the end of the standard warranty this was in one way the best time for the battery to fail as I now have a brand new battery which should be good for a number of years...

Not connected to a tender?
I drive the Zed almost every day so I don't hook it up unless I know I am not going to be driving for an extended period of time.

Minus 18, the poor thing should be plugged into a block heater......I don't know if anyone ever put one in a Z4.

Not a block heater... but I've got a Webasto ThermoTop parking heater in mine... no frozen windows and the engine is out of the blue temperature zone even before starting. best. mod. ever.

"tic tic tic" = not enough juice to engage the starter solenoid. Put it on a charger for a while or boost/jump start it but read the manual first.

Just got 3 guys to give me a push, jump started it straight away and a drive up and down the motorway everything Is now sorted!
