Hi just pmd you found a set for you if your interested. Knocked him down to £125 plus postage 👍🏻

D’oh! Just ordered the ones from Germany. That’ll teach me for being impatient. :headbang:

You planning on just fitting the clears as is? Or are you going to paint them with tint spray etc to make a set of quad spots. Some folks on here have done that in the past and when done well it looks a treat!

They will be sprayed with red tint to give the four clear spots. The clear lenses as they are are not to my taste.

I must admit I’d never even considered using LEDs. Will look into that. Thanks.

Not the cheapest, but I've been very impressed with mine - think these are the right base but you'd need to check.

My clear lights should be here soon, so I need to buy the necessary tint spray and as some have suggested lacquer also. Any particular products/brands to get or avoid?

I know very little about paints, are these tint sprays sol et based acrylics? Do I therefore need a certain type of lacquer to be compatible?

Couple cans of this, Red tint. I used just over one can.

Couple cans of clear lacquer.

Job done.

Is clear laquer the way to go about this? Or does it need to be something special? The headlight kits all come with some sort of UV protection coat?

This old thread might be of interest

or alternatively you could go for a completely different approach like this

They need clear lacquer. If lacquer isn’t used the tint will fade and it’s also needed for the shine.
Mine have been done a few years now and still look factory and shiny.

This is the thread with pics of my rear lights after tinting and lacquering. They still as good nearly 4 years later.

👍👍 I’m used to masking, done it most of my working life making fibreglass kids rides and luxury boats.

Excellent, thank you. Will order some of each and find some decent masking tape. The cheap stuff I have in the shed leaves a sticky residue that is extremely difficult to remove.

I've heard of these before and was considering using them, but I've not seen many people using it... wanting feedback before I took the plunge. It looks similar to a vinyl wrap and not too sure if I'd balls up the application!

Anyone close to me wanting to do this, I'll be glad to help out 👍

They look great Russ. Good to know that they can last without fading to orange once lacquered.

Will report back with pics once I have done mine. If they end up as good as yours I’ll be very pleased.

They do look good. The unpainted clears look so tacky/max power/ old lexus to me that they simply ruin a zed.

NOTE
It might be obvious, but after applying the red tint you UNMASK the round indicator bit and apply lacquer over the whole lot. If you don’t you will have a ridge around the centre clear spot
As I say it might be obvious but I forgot to mention in previous post.👍

Pretty sure I can see some orange coming through on those  that's why I swapped mine in the end.
