I have decided that it is time to lose the 3.0 Si badges from my car, though I think I will keep the Z4 badge on for now.

I'm going to give the dental floss approach a go as I don't have any fishing line :D (unless anyone has a better suggestion...)

One question before I start - what is the best thing to use to get rid of any left-over adhesive, obviously without causing damage to the paintwork ?

Warm them up first with a hairdryer and then they should easily peel off once the glue has softened. Before a coupe owner predictably chips in - yes, all roadster owners will have a hairdryer available! :roll:
 
I used the dental floss method and it worked a treat for me,no hairdryers were used in the removal of the badges :poke: :thumbsup:
 
Thanks guys - I have both baby wipes and WD-40, so will have a bash this evening I think. Mrs Bing is getting used to me borrowing her hair dryer for use on my car. Wouldn't be surprised if she bought me one for my birthday :roll:

i took my Z4 badge off today.

used a hairdryer to heat the badge and glue up, then used a trusty tesco clubcard to go in behind the badge. worked a treat. the glue casme off with some pulling and then a polish.

I'll try - it's tucked up in the garage though, and it'll be dark when I do it 8)

i used a hairdryer and just pulled them off once the glue was warm

then waxed over the area where it was to remove the outline

took 10 mins mate
 
Okay, took one side off - just used floss and a baby wipe, some Megs ultimate compound to polish the outline off, finished with some Dod juice wax... Not a hair dryer in sight, though I did find a spare tin-opener under a shelf whilst I was knelt on the floor if there's a coupe owner out there who needs one :? :poke:

Have to say, looking down that side and then the the other that still has the badges, I am liking it a lot. Such a simple change, but getting those little silver lumps out the way makes a huge difference to the way the car looks down the wings, out of all proportion to the effort required.

I'll do the other one tomorrow in daylight - just for Andy I'll take some before and after shots :D May help anyone else considering it too.

Finally :D. It looks so much better without them :thumbsup: .

I dont mind the side badges... But dont like the rear Z4 badge....

Wouldnt want anyone to think i had a 2.0 :fuelfire:
