De-badge or not De-badge...that is the question

the problem with de-badging is it is mostly for smaller engine cars that people de-badge (in general and as far as I have seen) rather than the bigger and more powerful engines IMO 8)

I must admit, this is the reason I had the sdrive20i badge taken off the sides of my car. I did it more for other peoples benefit though you see... They expect a sports car like the Z4 to have a bigger engine and I just didn't want to disappoint them...

I had the Z4 badge taken off the rear because (as many people say) it looks much cleaner.

that was just a general observation and everybody is free to do whatever they like :)

if I would have gone ahead and bought the sdrive20i, I wouldn't have de-badged it as I like badges :D

I would always get the car with badges and remove them myself. That way you've got the badges should you wish to replace them when you sell it.

I made sure the dealer gave me the badges when picking up the car... I paid for them after all!

Looks like someone got interupted while stealing your badge.

To be honest I think the Z4 badge on the rear looks a little "aftermarket" on the E89. There isn't really a "shape" on the rear where it looks right! I took mine off as soon as I got my Z4 home! Easy to do with a bit of dental floss!

To be honest, even if I got the 35is, I'd still de-badge it. I've de-badged all the cars I've owned my entire life, I just like the clean look. I do know people that does that though or vice versa, put an "M" badge on a non-M car in hopes to fool people.

The badges on the E85 M's look great can't imagine the car without them. 8)

Seen a few E89s without them and it seems to suit the more detailed slightly fussy styling.

Only car I've owned that I thought about debagging was my old Modeo 24v Si, as apart from the badges, it looked exactly like the 1.6 and the diesel. Bit of a sleeper looking back on it  .

Enjoy the hand over :D

Well I popped out to the garage on Sunday with hair drier and dental floss and the SDrive 20i have been removed :D
I am also contemplating removing the Z4 on the rear end as well as looking at the pics does give it a cleaner appearance.

Well,

Picked my Z4 up this morning and I am very happy with it - stunning looking car and I even got some nice comments from people on the garage forecourt when I filled her up :D

Beautifully finished inside and the 20i appears to have plenty of urge imho.

Looking forward to many enjoyable miles ahead.

I shall endeavour to upload some pics as soon as I get the chance.

Cheers

If you're on the fence about removing it just take a few photos from different angles and photoshop the badge out. Compare with/without side by side and make your choice.
