De-bade option

Hi all,
Using the search on here, I can see plenty of info about badges in general, but none that answer the specific question I have in mind.

Was the E85/E86 ever offered with a badge delete option as new? I'm talking about the Z4 scritp on the back and the ones on the front wings - not the roundals.

I've seen a few without these badges and I like the clean look, but I'm wondering if these are cars that have had them removed or were they like that from new?

Not sure if it was an option, but its very popular for them to be removed. There's plenty of advice on here on how to do it! :D

Yeah it was an option from new, when I was looking to buy I saw an e85 that had the original invoice and I remember seeing it as a chosen option.

Removed the badges from mine, looks much tidier without them albeit it did require a good polishing to get rid of the outline on the paint, I assume from built up residue over the years

first thing i did when i got mine, hate having to wax/polish around them plus looks much cleaner finish.

Thanks everyone for your replies  . I think I'll be pulling them off this weekend - just ahead of a machine polish and full detail

It’s easy to use dental floss to saw through the sticky pad at the back

As smartbear say's really easy to do. The only thing I would add is when using dental floss to get them off I mask the area up to the edge of the badges with masking tape to ensure paint doesn't get abraded. You can get them all of and clean up any residue glue in 30 minutes.
