DCT planned maintenance

My car is now at 51k miles. 2016. No leaks but planning ahead as I intend to carry out a gear oil and filter service. I’ve done plenty on a 7G tronic merc using the same process.

I’m just after a good service kit. This is currently on sale at £257.50

Always mixed feelings about Meyle ..some stuff seems ok..their HD range is good..

But I guess it’s not that difficult to build a service kit..

Much better to have it serviced..the top up process after initial fill is tricky ..ish

Yes there is a very detailed process requiring diagnostic equipment which I have. Very similar to 7 gtronic on a merc

Well I’ve read all the trustpilot reviews. All seams Good but there are a few bad. I’m going with R44 Performance.

It’s a gasket only not the sump. I have no leaks present so will clean my old sump and replace the gasket. Their reviews are much better. Customer care is very high on my list. Things can and will go wrong now and then. It’s how it’s dealt with that matters.

Personally I'd go with the OE BMW kit with the sump

I need to confirm the sump is also OE BMW. Waiting for a reply

I didn’t change the sump on mine, I checked it a couple of weeks ago and so far all is good with no leaks.

I have ordered the kit from Gearbox Oils as it came with the sump plate. There was £20 difference in it. First job will be confirm all parts are genuine.

I have already been through the procedure on my TopDon Phoenix Plus 2. It is identical to the ISTA procedure so happy with that.

I am not having any issues, I just want to prevent any damage by doing as much maintenance as possible to prevent problems occurring.

I will update once all parts checked and procedure complete.
