DCT oil leak

While fitting my decat downpipes I noticed the plastic sump pan on the DCT was wet with oil.

I left the undertrays off the car incase I needed to make any exhaust adjustments, and I've had spots of oil on the drive where the DCT has been leaking.

Seems quite common on other BMW's with a DCT.

Anyone on here had the same?

It looks like this is a pretty expensive repair.

There are two gaskets on the DCT that can leak. One on the bottom (oil pan) and one one the side.

The oil pan gasket cant be bought alone, it comes with the pan and is about £200. Oil is £100.

The side gasket requires the DCT to be lowered for access.

Alloy housing, plastic sump plate. Different rates of expansion and contraction. Plastic distorts. Usually damp, even moist. (Ooh, missus!) Shouldn't drip, though.

Yet something more to check on mine. I wonder if this might be the source of my shifting issues and coincidence it happened around the same time as the injectors...

I feel your pain. I've only had the car 2 months and I've already replaced 6 injectors and the turbo wastegate valves.

Me too at 53k. BMW warranty didn't cover as gaskets not included. Pity the gasket was part of a £200 bit of plastic!
