DCT hesitation from standstill

I notice on my 35is that when pulling away from standstill in comfort mode that the car pulls away very slowly until it has changed to 2nd, much slower than I expected given the throttle was pushed around third to half way in. Maybe I just have to get used to it and have confidence to push the pedal down further but it seems like it is hesistant and made pulling out quickly from junctions and onto roundabouts a bit awkward. I tried sport mode briefly from standstill but need more time to see if it helps.

This is quite normal. Try driving the car with a bit more gusto and also try turning off traction control where performance over comfort is required (what you are experiencing is a combo of turbo lag, adaptation and traction control).

Flash it with MHD .. It sorts out the hesitation :D .. Oh and makes it faster :driving:

Would you have any recommendations on where to get hold of the required K+DCAN & OTG - USB cables? I see loads advertised on eBay / Amazon etc. but don't want to get stung with cheap Sh*t that doesn't work.

Cheers in advance

Or like me, brick the car!

Have a look on bimmersoftware.com... That's the best place for cables

hesitation normal , frustrates me a bit to be honest , at a roundabout it can feel like an age sometimes to wake up even with when in sport mode

Try to be more positive with the loud pedal and I use the paddles to change up to 2nd earlier than the auto does and it has the desired effect

Nice one, mate. Thanks for the tip :happyclap:

All seemed much better this morning, flew out of a roundabout with no problem.
The morning commute was perfect, sunshine, country roads, roof down, heated seats on, blowers on the feet, aviators on, danger zone playing, even managed 30MPG. Living the dream. 8) :driving:

How are you using the throttle & brakes? I find that applying the throttle ever so slightly ahead of releasing the brakes makes the car pull away in a much more positive manner. If I don't do that you either get a lazy pickup or you end up accelerating quite hard.. round a corner

What does all this mean? Flash with MHD...? K+DCAN &OTD...? Brick the car...? Bit of a foreign language to me but interested as mine can bit slightly hesitant in Comfort but fine in Sport.

The best thing to do is Google MHD tune there is a lot of info on the Internet about it, but with this you can do it your self ... Put it on and remove when you want

I have noticed the hesitation with some concern. If I pull out of a side road while turning the nannies will cause a pause because of slight wheel spin which is not even detectable. It is only a second but that can be an eternity if you were trying to get out ahead of that Bus. It does not happen in Sport+ and I hope I always remember to use it. If there is some sand or gravel at the intersection it also makes it worse. Stepping on it harder only makes more wheel spin and more hesitation in my 35i usa.
