DCT fluid change

I’ve gotten some input and read lots of posts about the fluid change in a DCT.
My question is, can the fluid be changed and do a complete job without the use of the ISTA software?

B21…I’ve seen a few videos online and I know I’d have no problem doing it. I just don’t have a laptop to use the software. That’s why I was curious if it can be done with out it
 
The issue is that you have to purge the system, unlike the ZF6 or 8HP it’s not just a question of shifting a few gears…

My trusted Indy tried to do it without the correct s/w and I subsequently got my one and only transmission overheat warning…

Took it to a BMW Indy and they added another litre of fluid with the correct s/w
 
Ok. I know you told me that before but I thought maybe it was possible. I’ve contacted an independent garage in Dallas to get a quote on getting it done
