Daytime Instrument Cluster Lighting

I'm a newbie to the E89 family, so I apologize for all the dumb posts. I've noticed during the day, the instrument cluster is not well lit. When the auto headlights turn on, the cluster is well illuminated. Is there any way to adjust the setting for the daytime so that I can see it better? It's not a huge deal, but I'm curious.
 
My Oakley's are polarized and sometimes it just helps to have some extra light. Also, I noticed sometimes in the shade it's dark and not enough to trigger the headlights.
 
I've got polarised in the Z and I now understand why you need a bit more light - I think you'll get used to it and it does make any warning light more obvious!

I found it dim too when compared to my previous car. You can put the setting to on all the time if you can code. I did it with Carly
