Daylights on when opening car...

Does anyone know how to have the daylights come on automatically after opening the car with the remote on the key (and going off when closing)? Or does this require a trip to the Stealer...? I don't mind the daylights being on permanently whilst driving. I just want the car to greet me when I open the doors

Mind you... I don't have any experience working on cars

Just caveat this response: This is useful if you want a separate, independent feed - I have this connected to my Angel Eyes so they act as a daylight running light, and are independent of the sidelights:

For non-M's, you need to splice into the red/white wire as shown here (this is the same as mine):

For M's you need to use the red/white wire, but the location seems different (I don't have an ///M so can't confirm this).

Any feed off this connection should go through the grommet (to prevent water ingress) and be separately fused.

Let me know if you need further pics etc and I'll supply.

First of all thanks for the quick reply!

This is what my wiring looks like (non-M):

I suppose that this is the red-white you are talking about? Is this the wire that becomes "live" when unlocking the car and goed off when locking the car?
I don't want a separate connection for the small (!) daylights in the inner rings (and tail lights of course) but simply want them to go on when unlocking the car and whilst driving, as if the light switch on the left of my steering wheel (LHD) is in the first position. I hope my explanation is somewhat clear
So: if the red-white wire is the right one, to which one should I bridge it to get the lights on when unlocking the car and off when locking the car?

Mark are these eom angels or after market?

I'm guessing aftermarket.
 Yep, aftermarket. Angel Eyes added as part of the de-gingering process.

I *think* what you are asking for is more akin to a programming change, rather than a wiring change - something similar to the "Home Safe" lighting you get on a Volvo? Some of the guys on here have done some changes to the default settings using INPA and a OBC connector from ebay - see the post by mac27040 in this thread with the spreadsheet codes

You're probably right... That's getting a little complicated for me though :(
I was hoping that I could find the wire that switches the locks in the doors open and closed and that I could use that same wire to switch the small daylights and rear lights on and off... Apparantly the electronics in a Zed aren't as simple as my mindset
