Daylight Running Lights with Auto Lights

Can anyone tell me (a) Which lights are on as DRL's and (b) what happens if the auto lights switch on please.

I have low beam on DLR and have the light switch set to low beam, as soon as the ignition is switched off the lights turn off
 
DRL behaviour varies by market, so I'm not the best to answer, as I don't even have halogens in addition to being in a different market. AFAIK, halogen DRLs are the dipped beams, so the auto lights don't really have any effect. Unless the main beams are switched on, maybe?

Sorry for a vague answer, hopefully someone will provide a more definitive answer.
