Day trip to Rye, East Sussex - Recommendations

Thinking of heading to Rye at the weekend as I've heard it's quite pretty. I know a few of you live around there..any recommendations on what to do and importantly where to park?

There is the Lamb House at Rye which is National Trust, other that that not sure what is there. There are a couple of car parks in the centre so parking isn't a problem.
 
Park at the bottom and walk up to the centre via the steps opposite the car park. No parking right in the centre really.

The centre is nice for a browse and to eat.

I meant where we parked on the roundabout by the cafe, though that was pretty central, guess not. :oops:

Yes, not too bad. Are you "recommending" the cafe as well for a romantic dinner? :rofl:
 
Well if anyone has any better suggestions on where to go in England for a change of scene for a day then please let me know. I don't really fancy driving more than 2 hours, I read that Rye was pretty quaint, has antique shops which I like browsing as well as Camber Sands for a beach walk. Thought that sounded ok but you lot don't seem too impressed by it.
 
For a day it is nice I would say. Been there plenty of times and enjoy it there.
 
Sorry Ruby, didn't mean to put a downer on your day out. It's just a shame to go somewhere only to find there isn't much there and not much to look at and before you know it you're back in the car and on your way home.

If PVR has been and enjoys it then stick to your original plan.

Camber Sands beach looks lovely!
