Day light running lights...

Agree about Merc's, especially the new E class. Some Audi's are not too bad... :?

Not sure I like the LED rings on some newer BMW's. Saw a new X5 recently and they seemed very blue in colour. I like the small strip of LED's on the Porsche Cayman.

Hmmm... I was thinking of replacing the bulbs in the fogs with LED's..

Would this bring on the bulb failure light?

Also thinkin LED sidelights aswell but was worried about the same issue.

Anybody done this with no bulb failure lights?

Cheers.

Going to get them and some LED illuminated furry dice, oh and a nice dave and sharron sunshade with neons for the night and a baseball cap with the brim at the back to go with my shell suit, need to lie down now!

Sidelights have been done (by me then removed) and others. Need to use a 5w ceramic resistor in parallel or special LED's with built in circuitry.

I'm sure fogs would be the same replacing a H7 35w with at most say 1w of LED, but the trick would be not to wire them as fogs, but take a feed from sidelights of the DRL circuit to drive them.

For me though LEDS belong on Audi and that group of manufacturers and circular AE belong on BMW's

Hence why I went AE :)
(Couple of old shots as I can even see I have RFT's on. Hard to photograph as they are rather bright and the amber is the sunset getting a look in.)

Wow, if that post was "offensive" then this site has just won the award for being the most heavily moderated site on the planet.

If you want to see the picture just look on any of the DRL threads on Pistonheads. It's a picture of an Audi headlight with the LEDs arranged into a crude outline vaguely resembling a willy.

CJ10jeeper - are these available on the market or only a DIY option? they look great!

Tim - those on mine were part of a project that involved splitting lights a sacrificial set and rebuilding with ccfl AE inside.

Not sure how or where Gookah did his, but they look similar in concept

I have got some spare LED's left over from the christmas tree.....could wrap the surplus up and over the roof using the leftover England flag poles for elevation over the windows..No need for any major mods :|

did mine similar way, CCFL's and spare lights with white lenses..
