so getting to know my local bmw parts dept guy very well . New rear wing seals fitted, salmon relays x 2. Levelling rod for lights fitted, next thing i am tackling is the rocker cover gasket, valvetronic motor gasket, and cam shaft gasket.
Key fob battery to do as well.
A few other things , advice welcome. Oil filter housing engine/cooler gaskets to do, would you use gen bmw ?
the reason i ask is ,they seem to be £30 a piece !!! I could fit a complete Febi housing new with seals for £72 all in, I wondered if it was quicker way, less cleaning of the old housing.
also roof drain holes ,does the e89 have them if so where and how do we clean them

Yes,possible some FEBI stuff gets a bad wrap, no drain holes

Nope. None. So one thing less to do. :D All the rainwater goes down channels and into the boot.

BTW for gaskets, etc, have a look at www.x8r.co.uk.

Cheers always thought Febi were Oem spec

Some FEBI stuff is..for example N20 timing chain and guides ..with BMW logos ground off..other stuff is shite..especially it appears many E85 parts…chap here in Scotland has had nothing but grief with various Febi parts..I’d put them as tier 2..tier 1 being Lemforder, ATE, Pierburg etc

I have bitten the bullet and gone bmw for gaskets,i will be fitting, so saving on labour costs. If they do 100k again I am happy with this

rocker finished as ids the valvetronic and cam sensor seals, not too bad a job really .Used the how to do info from this site as back up.oil filter housing and cooler seals up next.......
