I've always thought that if you have to explain what a number plate is supposed to mean then it's a waste of money.
I have to disagree with this, if it means something to the owner then that's what counts in my opinion

100% agree. Mine (V88 JOR) means nothing to anyone else.. But I was born in 88 and my name is Jordan.. And it's my car 8)
It'll be my plate for the rest of my life

 Mine is a nickname that my son was given at birth, bought it when he was a wee'un, and had it on a number of cars for nearly 20 years now. Also a plate for life :D

My ///M has a plate that essentially reads M4 Coupe... Now that there's an ///M4, I might get back more than the £250 I paid for it :)

I just hope there will never be an M2 as it would look a bit odd on my 911 :D

Let's hope that Audi never make an A1 or the plate on my S2000 will look a bit odd :D

And for you...the M2 is coming so you'd better be prepared for people to mistake your Porsche for a BMW :D

Not all has been lost ….

http://dvlaregistrations.direct.gov.uk/buy.html?plate=M50%20PVR&price=250

Ah no, you see there will never be an M50 so it matches my -50th perfectly 8)

Except it should be P50 PVR not M.... Although then people would think it was a P50

My initials are pretty SH1T too  otherwise, fair enough as long as it makes you happy.
I fitted A1*** to my S2000 today. It doesn't read anything (except perhaps "aches" if you read it phonetically and use your imagination) but it's neater than the seven character plate it came with.
