Dashcams - What's everyone using in their Zeds?

I'm a big fan of dashcams, I've had quite a few from cheap ones to the good ones I have now. They have proved their weight in gold over the years, but I don't yet have one in the Zed, highlighted by the incident at the weekend...

In the van and my Volvo I have the Snooper DVR-4HD in the front, which has built in speed camera warnings :) I also have one of their DVR-1HD's in the rear of the Volvo.

Looking for suggestions for the Zed, as great though the Snoopers are, they are a little bog with 3" touchscreens on the rear, and I want something discrete for the Zed, preferable with a small but good remote camera head that can stay in place and not attract attention when parked..

So what, if anything are people using? I want full HD and also audio recording.. Wifi would also be great for downloading clips to my phone, a feature I really like on the Snoppers.

I just use a cheapo Mini 0806. Quality is great for the money and the installation super neat, but no frills and some quirky software.

Don't think that'l work with my roof folded into the boot lol...

Of course it will, just need to position it through a hole in the boot/bumper/number plate instead of window :P

I have the Transcend pro 220 in the daily driver & the mini 0806 in the Z ,both are good but the mini is smaller and more compact .

I am putting my blackvue in mine also but can't see how to get the wired own the inside of the a pillar trim. Does it pull back in some way like it did in my e93 ?

Is there anything available that can do parking detection for any decent period of time (e.g. a week or more) without needing a power bank or draining the car battery?

The "wake on shake" feature of the 0806 never materialised. :(

I used to have a blackvue dr650gw front and rear cameras in my car before I got the z4 they would record for about 4 days before shutting down when using a power pro kit blackvue kept updating the firmware which made them not very reliable. Fitted a nextbase 202 lite in the zed much cheaper seems to to more reliable and also got 12.5% discount on my insurance

Blackview fitted with auto power module up above the interior light.
Excellent piece of kit. Can be set for g force so bumps don't trigger alerts and left running in a car park for days/weeks on end ( stores 15 seconds before any bump and 2 mins after.)
Real time view on iPhone in car or in house.
All programmable on desktop onto an SD card.

Nearly paid for itself by recording a park and ride guy exceeding speed limits on motorway resulting in a full refund and few quid extra..

Well, the cheap and cheerful GoClever Full Mini HD arrived yesterday, so popped it into my van this morning on the way to the shop.

The thing is TINY, not much bigger than a £2 coin!

Popped it next to the cheapo Ebay one I had dragged out of a drawer for the van, since putting the Snooper in the Zed after being hit...

Shows how small it is, should fit well into the Zed..

Anyway, the video quality on max resolution, 1080FHD - 1920x1080 is nowhere near as good as the Snooper, but still good enough to cath the prat in the Range Rover @ 1min in jumping the lights across me, those lights also have a couple of seconds delay between his going red and mine green. Bear in mind YouTube has reduced it to 720p..

For the money, it'll do nicely :)

Hi guys .
Just fitted the rexing vi wedge cam .
Nice and cheap does the trick and is just right for the car , got some great reviews.
Can't really see it from inside the car

Initially i had the G1W but like the majority of camera's, the suction mount just made it look untidy once fitted. The key factor for me after this was a wedge style camera camera which has a minimal 'footprint'. I've installed the A118 wedge dashcam. it hasn't missed a beat since i installed it.
