I'm sure there are other posts but I thought it might be helpful to share.

Installed my nextbase cam with hardwire kit today.

Simple job, used fuse 12 (switched with ignition) and earthed to the metal screw hole that the undertray to the glove box screws in (left hand side, passenger side).

All cables hidden along the edge of windscreen and trim, tidy job.

I could get a job in Halfords! πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈπŸ˜… Or maybe not.

Pics! You can pick up switched 12v from the interior mirror which makes for a very easy neat install.

Yeah I saw that post but as I read it needed a cable /wire splicing (?) - which put me off!

I'll post some photos tomorrow πŸ‘

Yeh you are correct but really the amp splicer connectors are the easiest things in the world to use...you only need a pair of pliers. But it’s all good to do it from the fusebox anyway my good sir πŸ‘

I'd manage to cut through it despite being easy πŸ˜‚πŸ˜…πŸ€£

won't doing this flatten your battery if you have it switched to parking mode?

The hardwire kit should include a battery voltage drop detector and switch off power to the dash cam if it drops past a certain voltage.

Yeah switches off after 2 mins so low battery /drain.

Saw that, as above, didn't fancy splicing wires and this was this just as quick

OP, as your nextbase hardwire kit has battery protection, why have you connected to a fuse that is only live when the ignition is on......you won't be able to use parking mode, if your cam has parking mode?
