Dashboard Rattle

I recently had a rattle coming from the dash, turned out to be a SAT NAV cable holder that had broke away from its mount and tapping against the dash

Well it looks like I have identified the rattle, which would have been the hard part. There appears to be something loose on the interior light above the rear view mirror. If I press it firmly when driving, the rattle is silenced. Hopefully will be an easy fix.

So now I know the rattle is coming from the interior light - how do I remove the cover to find out what it is?

Its the clear(ish) plastic bit.

For stuff like this, find a passenger who understands your weird hobby. Otherwise you will crash.

The interior light just pries out. I was being a bit easy, easy but with a bit more force it comes out.

for rattles behind the ear, have a go at (or passenger) at fiddling with the trim which surrounds the runnel that the seat belt comes out from (roadster anyway, maybe the same for C. This rattles in mine and really does my head in, haven't got round to sorting it yet. Another place near the dash some of you might be getting tacky plastic rattling noises is from the cheap plastic which surround the ignition barrel - at first i thought the noise came from the dash/windscreen/roof - but nope t'was there. My old pug sounds more solid

I'm hoping this is the noise I'm hearing, but will be the weekend before I get the vents out :headbang:
