Has anyone got any thoughts on the following please? On a drive this evening I noticed a warning light come on on the dashboard. referencing https://www.athensbmw.com/bmw-warning-lights-and-symbols/ the symbol is the "Emissions" warning.
"An emissions light is easily confused with an engine management symbol, but if emissions are the issue, the engine symbol will be just an outline."
It was just an outline. Then when I pulled off the motorway and was on local roads I noticed that several times when I pressed the brakes another warning light would come on. Again referring to the above link that was the "Headlamp Out/Malfunction".
Once parked on the drive we checked the rear lights and they seemed to be working and the headlamp warning light went out. The emissions warning light was still on.
This all makes me think that maybe I have a loose connection on a brake light which could explain it only happening sometimes. Could the lightbulb warning cause the emissions warning? Could they be related. I'm going to try and book the car in with a local garage and hope they can spot something but does anyone have any suggestions please?
