Dashboard cameras - recommendations?

Sorry, have an E89 and there is no similar bracket behind the mirror trim :idunno:

Nonetheless, my best guess is indeed M4: At least in my E89 I have found several unused holes at other places with such thread that I could use for funny things. Would also suit good to the screw heads in the picture, in comparison with the voltage module (presume I have the same with another brand).

Best regards

Mick

If Ihad an M4 die I could have cut a new thread on another screw to try. Might have to go and find a hardware shop and try and buy some different sized metric screws to try.

Hello Swiftly
Can't help with your immediate problem but last weeknd I installed 32 gb another memory card and a slightly slower class 10. Hey presto 32 gb recorded off the trot with no problems. I now have every confidence this camera will be as good as the V1000.

I received my 801 earlier this week as well. Mine is also working with a 32Gb memory card installed, happy days

Just been out and checked my zed for you which is the same as yours, no bracket or screws :?

Hope someone else will be able to advise and help you, good luck

Any experiences or thoughts on the Kaiser Baas ? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Kaiser-Baas-Car-Camera-Camcorder/dp/B00FC9FUG8/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1390601156&sr=8-4&keywords=kaiser+baas

Looking at the video footage I would suggest you can get better for your money. Try and read the number plates and you'll struggle. Not so with the 0801 camera because it records at 1080 / 30 frames rather than 720 / 30 frames. You really can tell the difference. Again the 0801 is no more money and if anything slightly cheaper. Hope this input helps.

The mini 0801 is a smaller camera and also very discrete which ticked one the many boxes I had.

Finally got round to fitting my mini 0801 camera yesterday, have to say I am very pleased with the result :)

Any reason you didn't mount higher up?

I could have raised the camera up slightly Srhutch, but then the camera wouldn't be hidden behind the rear view mirror so I would see the camera from the drivers seat which I wanted to avoid. The camera display powers down after a minute, but there is still a flashing LED to indicate that the unit is on and recording, this would really irritate me, especially at night.

With mine turning up this week and working off the 12v was looking at a similar installation idea, sadly I think the fancy ones demonstrated here are far beyond my practical capabilities :(

What's the idea of the camera.?

You filming for track use or is it for peace of mind on the roads if you have an accident.?

Really for peace of mind as Disca has said, also fun for forum runs as well http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=61780&start=150

Thats a very good point, my camera is well concealed behind the rear view mirror and cannot in fact be seen from the drivers seat. I have had some interesting footage shall we say ... :o

Oh yes...
Dealer: "Sorry, no, didn't hear any noise when doing the test drive".
Cam: "No test drive. Just put the oil in and washed the car."

OK, could have seen that on the odometer as well, but that's so much nicer...

Well i finally got mine fitted

But had a lane departure system which works well although beeps even when i want to change lanes!!

Will be interesting to hear how you find the image quality Aquazi, I have been impressed with the quality of the video footage of the 801 for the price paid :D
