Dash warning lights

The past 4 journeys home from work, these lights have popped up 20 minutes into my drive home. A few weeks ago the car had a new steering column and was wondering if they may be linked? the lights go out when the ignition is switched off. Drove it all Sunday with no problem and it seems to be roughly the same part of road on which they pop up. Any ideas as to what may be causing it or how to remedy it?

Try resetting the steering sensor:

reset by starting the car, full lock left, full lock right, switch off and restart.

Probably some dirt on a wheel speed sensor !, try cleaning them

Only difference is my lights aren't on when I start the car

Don't know if this helps but I had this issue last year but it only happened when the weather was very hot ?
On chatting to a retired mechanic (not BMW just old school) he told me he had a problem a few years ago with a Ford Mondeo in similar circumstances ! After hours of trying to trace the fault on the Mondeo they found that the wiring loom was pulled tight and as the engine got hot the wiring expanded and caused the push connectors to move slightly and throw up a warning light ? I kind of doubted this explanation as I would have thought that this would happen the other way around on cold days as the wiring contracted ???? Anyway on washing the car I found the sensors for the brake master cylinder and the wiring loom was pulled realy tight ? I eased the loom back the other way to give it a little bit of slack and BINGO ! Light has not come on since ?

Don't know if this helps and I do live in Manchester where realy hot days are rare !!!!

Took a different route home and the lights didn't come on. I'm going to take my usual route home tomorrow and see that if it occurs again.

What sensor and where??

Iv had the Yellow Explanation mark circle coming and go for a while now, but this weekend i had a bulb out and low tire pressure, which then through up the Explanation Mark in a triangle :|
Tonight i sorted the bulb and the tires and the went away. Took the Zed out for 20min, stopped for 10min then 20min back, all good apart from the original Explanation Mark in a Circle?

Whats it meant to be (faulty or not)?

Is that not the parking brake warning light.

Tyre light comes on when the computer thinks the wheels are turning at slightly different speeds. All three together could point to one of the rear speed sensors being duff. Or your handbrake sensor could be playing up and any one of the wheel speed sensors. I'd check the rear first. Not done it myself though.

Im sure that is your brake pad sensor light

Update. I bought a code reader and it said steering angle sensor. I cleared the code and it came up again always on the same piece of road. So I either get it changed or take the long route home every day.

Think I'll do the same. I had a code reader previously, bought it for 1 thing then sold it. Wish I'd kept hold.
Anyone know where exactly the steering angle sensor is?

Update: I noticed since the steering column was changed, the steering wheel has been sitting slightly off centre to the right. Today I noticed that the lights come on after maintaining a very gentle bend for a few seconds. Could it be that the difference between the steering wheel angle and wheel speed cause the error? Again only happens on roughly the same stretch of road.
