Dash panel removal

Hi guys

Can anyone point me in the direction of how to remove the stainless effect dash and consul panel.
Going to carbon wrap it.
Found link on youtube but that only covers radio removal.

Cheers

Stainless steel effect? It's real brushed aluminium

Get yourself a copy of TIS, fully detailed don there. I used instructions on mototribe back when I did mine in 2008. They appear to have gone now though.

Have a dig around on here though, I'm sure someone had done some since.

it pretty much just pulls off bar the far left clip that is behind the panel, you access that by removing the air vent/cupholder

And the 4 screws behind the head unit.

Yes..sorry I kinda assumed that went without saying as it's in plain sight whereas the other is hidden away

I'm doing mine soon but keep putting it off because everyone says the centre console is a nightmare

I'm the same! I've done all mine apart from the piece around the gear stick and handbrake - if you attempt it and are successful I'd love to know how you get on and what to look out for! :)

Got any pics of how the dash looks

If you jump to page 3 of my mod thread you'll see it (also done the handles to match).

In plain sight?

Only if you know to remove the head unit :poke:

hi,
I followed your excellent how to section for the z4 centre consul removal. Got everything done to the point of just needing to give it a heave up and back. then it dawned on me?? I only want to take the silver part off?. do I need to remove the whole consul in order to get the silver part off..
cheers

Unfortunately yes. The brushed aluminium panel is fastened to a plastic carrier/frame from the rear with a gazillion torx screws and you can only get to these by removing the whole 'kit and caboodle' !
Thankfully reassembly is alot quicker than pulling it all out. It's worth it though when it's all carbon wrapped and back in situ !

Well, thats getting done another day now....however i do have all the other bits off. Can anyone recommend where to get it dipped or wrapped.....not sure of best option now other than i fancy a nice carbon effect
