I'm not the right person to ask, my new sensor gets fitted next week, if it's not the sensor then I've got really bad oil consumption.
I see your Zed is a 2007 so a facelift with an dipstickless N52, do you have a reason to disbelieve your sensor or is it a general question.

No it is showing oil ok every time I check it, but I have only had the Z for 2 wks and couldn't believe there was no dipstick! 
so I suppose it must be accurate

Put it this way, if it was possible to retrofit a proper dipstick then I would, however its not.
Advantages- able to check oil on the move & no need to lift the bonnet, it also beeps when you switch the engine off to remind you to add oil next time.
Disadvantages- entirely reliant on an electronic sensor & no other way to check the level.
